Obituary of Cody Allen Guillemette

Cody Allen Guillemette was born in Sussex on November 2, 1988; he was the son of Wayne Guillemette and Norma Dalling. He graduated from Sussex Regional High School, followed by the Ready Arc Welding program.

The proudest moment of his life was the day he became a father. Autumn was the most important thing in his life, and he loved every single moment of being her dad. His favorite times were always his adventures spent with his turd bird. Cody had a deep love for family, for the farm and for his roots. He loved all the memories he had of growing up, side by side with all his cousins. His best friends. If you were lucky enough to be part of his life, you knew that Cody loved from the moment he chose you and he loved with every part of his soul.

He had an amazing will, a strength that did not come from just someplace within, it came from his very being. He was the definition of a fighter. Whether for his health, something that he needed, wanted to do or most importantly to help another. He would argue to the end of time if he knew he was right…. and even sometimes when he was wrong. He could argue the point off a triangle and was proud of it.

He had a strong passion for life itself and always lived it; head on, full force with no hesitation. Cody was the advocate for the underdog and would give anyone the shirt off his back, his last dime or even just an ear and a friendly smile.

One of his strongest superpowers was his use of the written and spoken word. He had a depth and a power to his words that few could compare to. He was articulate and imaginative and artistic and so very eloquent.

Cody loved to cook and bake and always wanted to own a restaurant. Even though his first few attempts at cookies might have been so hard they could have chipped a tooth. Although the dream of a restaurant never came up in the cards; he was very proud to open his own landscaping company in 2016. Cody was a hard worker at anything he laid his hand to and really was a jack of all trades.

Whether it was alone or with company, Cody loved a country drive – no matter the season or whose vehicle he was taking; you never knew what road you would end up down with him behind the wheel. No one could hold a candle to the visions that Cody would see. He could find true beauty in anything he laid his eyes on. Beauty amidst the chaos he would call it.

He was an old soul, a happy go-lucky, one-time only creation. Cody was a son, father, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, friend, philosopher, comedian and an all-around amazing man. Cody was a force to be reckoned with. A soul like no other. He was a storm made up of charisma, charm, kindness, empathy, compassion, love and laughter. He was the epitome of the reason why storms are named after people.

He will live on in the hearts of the light of his life, his daughter and turd bird, Autumn; his mom, Norma Dalling of Waterford; his father, Wayne Guillemette of Long Creek; his step mother, Eleanor Guillemette of Long Creek; his brothers: Edwin Dalling of Sussex Corner, Morgan Guillemette of Coles Island and Matt Hayes of Sussex; his step brother, Cory Perry and his wife, Brittany of Little River and their children: Everett and Easton; his maternal grandfather, Edward Dalling of Waterford; the mother of his daughter, Rebekah Masten; his furbaby, Skye; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and extended family.

Cody Allen Guillemette passed away unexpectedly on October 29, 2019, just short of his 31^st birthday.

He is predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Irene Dalling; his paternal grandparents: Ted and June Guillemette and by his uncle, Ashley.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex NB (506-433-1176) from where visitation will be held on Monday, November 4^th, 2019 from 1-3 and 7-9pm.

A Celebration of Cody’s life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at 11:00am
