Obituary of Perley James Tingley
Surrounded by his family, Perley James Tingley of Hillsdale died peacefully on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the Sussex Health Centre. Born in Bathurst, NB, he was a son of the late Gerald and Gladys (Glidden) Tingley. Perley worked at various things throughout his life, as a woodsman, heavy equipment operator, and truck driver, having his own trucking business. He enjoyed playing 45’s, and liked fiddle and harmonica music, and the company of his dog, Jake.
Perley is survived by his children, Sandra Stewart (Greg) of Kingston, NB, Terry Tingley (Tanya) of Hillsdale, Donald Tingley (Kathy) of Baxter’s Corner, and Julie Baxter (Derek) of Ward’s Creek; grandchildren Brandon, Ryan, Kristopher, Rob, Billy, Fred, Emma, Paige, and Alli; great grandchildren Bill, Merissa, Bellamy, Callie, Gracelyn, Anna, and Luke; siblings Walter Tingley (Connie) of Ontario, Patsy Devine (Walter), Francis Devine, Ethel Payne, all of Hillsdale, and Marina Buchanan (Melbourne) of Hammondvale; and several nieces and nephews. Perley was predeceased by his wife, Florence (Day) Tingley; brother, Mirns Tingley, and sister, Evelyn Bishop.
Although there will be no visitation, relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral liturgy, which will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 3:00 PM from the Wallace Community Chapel, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex. Interment will take place at a later date in the Ward’s Creek Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the SPCA would be appreciated by the family.
