Obituary of Laura Friars

Laura Audrey Friars was born in Markhamville on February 13, 1917, she was the daughter of the late James and Maude (Scott) Wilkins and was the wife of the late Elmer Friars who passed away in 1989. Audrey was a Registered Nurse graduated from J. A. McMaster School of Nursing Moncton Hospital in 1939 and was one of the first stewardess' on Trans Canada Air Lines.. She was a member of Prince Edward Temple # 22, Pythian Sisters, PC Association and a member of St. Paul's United Church. Mrs. Audrey Friars of Sussex passed away on September 16, 2010 at the age of 93. Audrey will live on in the hearts of her son, Walter and his wife Susan of Sussex; her brother, George Wilkins of Hamilton, ON; two sisters-in-law: Laura Wilkins of Sussex Corner and Gertrude Wilkins of Brockville, Ontario; seven grandchildren: Faron Friars and his wife Dena of Onoway, Alberta, Tanis Friars and Johannes Bell of Parlee Brook, Clinton Friars and Michelle of Okotoks. Alberta, Angela Friars and Garth Renee of Lisson Settlement, Chelsea Gaunce of Quispamsis, Crystal Gionet and her husband Pierre of Fredericton and Amber Friars and Andrew Chrysostom of Saint John; 11great grandchildren: Hyrum, Emma, Eva, Gideon, Mazie, Maude, Tyler, Cody, Tre, Josiah and Dahlia; as well as several nieces and nephews.
