Obituary of Ann-Marie Hargrove

Ann-Marie was born in Quispamsis on March 21, 1924; she was the daughter of the late George and Ada B. (Johnston) McAfee. Ann-Marie was employed with the office staff of Commercial Equipment in Saint John for a number of years before taking employment with Barwick Printing and Empire Maintenance of Montreal, returning to reside in Westfield, NB in 1982 and later in Sussex. Ann-Marie loved golfing and was a member of Westfield Golf Club where she served as President of the Women's Group and later as a member of the Sussex Golf Club until retirement in 2003. She also attended St. Paul's United Church in Sussex. Ann-Marie is survived by her beloved husband George; her daughter, Elizabeth O'Blenis and her husband James of Hamilton, Ontario; step daughter Coleen Lyon of Ontario; step sons: George Hargrove and his wife Lise of Alymer, Quebec; Raymond Hargrove and his wife Romona of Surrey, BC; Peter Hargrove and his wife Debbie of Oakville, Ontario; her brother, George A. McAfee and his wife Valerie of Quispamsis; her daughter-in-law, Janet Wood; her grandsons: Stephen Wood and Danny Wood of Browns Flat, NB and step grandsons: Dr. Andrew Lyon, Colin Hargrove, Chris Lyon and Thom Lyon; her granddaughters: Robin Manning and Kathy Chase, as well as step granddaughters: Diane Schott, Christine Ready, Joane Burns, Brittney Hargrove, Leigh Hargrove, Carey Hargrove, Catherine Lyon, Angela Lyon and Karine Hargrove; her great grandchildren: Victoria, Sydney, Melanie, Joel, Chelsea, Britney and Karissa; her great great grandchildren: Max and Jasmine as well as her nephews: David Stafford, Bobby Wiggins, Jimmy Wiggins, Chris McAfee, David McAfee and her nieces: Ruth Joudrey, Leslie Reid and Kelly Percy. Mrs. Ann-Marie Hargrove of Sussex passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on June 7, 2012 after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her son George Wood and her sisters: Lois Stafford, Jean Wiggins and Allison J. McMillan. Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176) from where visitation will be held on Saturday, June 9th from 1-4pm. A celebration of Ann-Marie's life will be held at St. Paul's United Church on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at 1:00pm. The interment will take place at Oceanview Memorial Gardens on Monday, June 11, 2012 at 11:00am. Donations in Ann-Marie's memory made to Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
