Mrs. Marjorie Jean Thomas was born in Gillingham, England on February 28, 1929; she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Clara (Woods) Funnell and the wife of the late Ronald Thomas. Marge was a smart, kind and classy woman. She loved to have fun and took great enjoyment in helping others. She was a proud member of the Sussex Red Hatters. She was a true artist, whether it was as a painter or as a wondrous seamstress. She even created the costumes that she and Ronald wore for their many square-dancing events. Marge and Ronald loved to travel; they would go anywhere as long as they were together. They took cruises and especially enjoyed their time as snowbirds in Florida. She will live on in the hearts of her special friends: Jeanne and Skip Oram and their family, Lorraine Sindrey of Ontario, Elaine Dewitt of Sussex and Fran Butler of PEI. Mrs. Marjorie Jean Thomas passed away at the Mill Cove Nursing Home on March 1, 2020 at the age of 91. Along with her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Tony Funnell. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex (506-433-1176). At Marge’s request no visitation or funeral service will be held. There will be a graveside service from Riverbank Cemetery on May 27, 2020 at 11:00am.
