Obituary of Ivy (Hawthorne) Cosman
With sadness, we announce the passing of Ivy Dawn (Hawthorne) Cosman, who died peacefully at the Sussex Health Centre on Friday, April 17, 2020. She was born in Sussex, NB on February 24, 1944, a daughter of the late Andrew and Dorothy (Holmes) Hawthorne and wife of the late Kemys Cosman.
Ivy is survived by her sister; Louise Stanwix and her husband Paul; brothers: Herman Hawthorne and his wife Rena, Robert Hawthorne and his wife Linda, George Hawthorne and his wife Bev; as well as several stepchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Kemys, she was also predeceased by her sister Betty Mallery; brothers: Harry Hawthorne and Dean Hawthorne; brother-in-law, Walter Mallery.
She was well known in her community for her athletic abilities. During her high school years, she enjoyed playing several sports including softball, badminton, track & field, volleyball and others.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex (506-433-1176). Due to Covid-19, A Celebration of Ivy's life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on October 3, 2020 at 1:00pm.
