The Wedge Family -
I write to express to your family the sincere condolences of the Patricias on the passing of Melvin Joseph Wedge. I did not know Melvin as our periods of service did not overlap, but regardless of that, I know that Canada and the Regiment remember Mel's service, and his family should be proud of that service. His name will be read in this year’s list of the lost when we read that list out this November in the Scared Space in Beechwood, the National Military Cemetery, Ottawa. His name will also be listed in the 2020 edition of the Patrician’s Last Post section - our regimental journal.
Thank you for obviously supporting Mel throughout his service and later. We are glad that he had a vibrant and large family of some great reach, and a full life after his Korean experiences with the PPCLI.
We hope that your family can heal from Mel's death and that you remember him fondly as a soldier as well as a father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, friend. Thank you all.
