Obituary of Earle Floyd
It is with broken hearts, we announce the passing of Earle Bryant Floyd of Apohaqui, NB, who died at his residence on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at the age of 68. Earle was born in Sussex, NB on April 23, 1952, a son of the late Gordon and Cora (Armstrong) Floyd.
Earle took a lot of pride in his Floydholm Holstein Farm. He was a member of the Canadian Holstein Association for 40 plus years. During that time, he won many ribbons at shows and received several awards for performance and productions. His greatest achievement was being the first dairy farmer in Canada to raise a 12-time Excellent cow of 18 years, which was his pride and joy. He had many other good cows, but Floydholm Starbuck Polly was his # 1.
When Earle was not driving the tractor or telling us what to do, you would find him sitting on the deck (weather permitting) enjoying the view, his barn swallows, hummingbirds and deer. Earle always enjoyed visits from friends talking about cows and farming (and having a cold one).
Earle is survived by his loving wife Betty (Carten) Floyd of 45 years; daughter Melissa (Peter) Coughlan of Saint John, son Bryant (Stacey Tarr) of Norton; sisters Carolyn Marr, Linda (Jack) Sadler; brothers Bruce (Bev), Billy (Carolyn) as well as several nieces and nephews. He will be very sadly missed by family and friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) and will be held privately.
