I knew George for many years whilst he lived in Papua New Guinea. I employed him at the airline Talair, where he worked for perhaps a decade in the 1970s and 1980s.
George is fondly remembered and sadly missed by his many friends in Papua New Guinea.

George was a very special friend who was our neighbour on Clover Court-we shared many stories about our younger years and remained friends even after he moved to the Villa in Sussex Corner as he use to come to Tim’s for coffee after church on Sunday and we were usually there He will be missed by all who were fortunate to have him as a friend. Our thoughts are with George's family today. We were neighbors with George on Clover Court and enjoyed countless backyard conversations over the years. He faithfully kept the bird feeders full for his feathered friends and a Milkbone biscuit, a guaranteed tail wagging treat for Millie and Ozzie, in his pocket. George's heart warming smile and genuine laugh will be missed.
