To the Chestnut Family.
It was many years ago when I met Bud. I was just a teenager at the time. I was a friend of Leo's. I extend my condolences to each one of you. I know that it is a difficult time with all the restrictions going on with this COVID 19. May you be comforted by the love and kindness of others. May you be strengthened and encouraged at this time with the peace of God.

To Bud’s son, Arnold, brothers, Stewart, Leo, and Harold, and sisters, Laverne and Lorraine, I am sadden to learn your father, brother, has passed away. I offer my sincere condolences.
Bud was truly my first friend. Our families (Taylors and Chestnuts) were neighbours during the early 1950s in Upper Butternut Ridge. Bud and I started school as Grade 1 students, at the one-room Alward School, in the fall of 1954. We often walked “to and from” school together that first year and the fall of the second year prior to the Taylors moving to Dobson corner. Though separated by 3 – 4 miles, Bud and / or I would walk the distance to get together a few times per year for the next three years, doing things that kids did in those days; throwing stones at hydro poles, climbing trees, bare-back riding of horses and cows, yes cows! With the opening of the Rural Elementary School on the Havelock / Petitcodiac Road in 1958 / 59 we were again classmates in Grade 5 and beyond for the next few years. Although it had been many years since I last spoke with Bud, he was often mentioned in my family; my three sons heard many stories of my friend, Bud.
In Bud’s name, I will be making a donation to the Frances J (Keirstead) Taylor Scholar / Bursary – my mother - and our Grade 1 teacher.
R.I.P. Bud.
Your Long Time Friend – Frank Taylor

We had the pleasure of sharing time with Bud at Green Meadows Belleisle. I will miss our drives and talks about car motors and horse power.
Rest in peace Bud,
Libby
