Robbie Robertson posted a condolence
Thursday, July 30, 2020
To Robbie, Beth, Joy, and Bev.,
Many years have passed since I knew you in the Belleisle Elementary and Regional High Schools.
Fond memories of your father. Last met him about 2 years ago at the Gateway Mall.
I am thankful for the confidence that he nurtured in me at an early age. He was my softball coach, and at that time, even though I was such a terrible player, he allowed me to try different positions on the team. Finally, he was kind enough to allow me to continue to play, even to put me in the outfield or at shortstop.
May you find a measure of comfort,
Prayfully,
Robbie Robertson

To Robbie,Beth,Joy,and Bev.
Sorry to hear about the pasting of your father , he was a great guy. I remember when he worked here at the farm as he was a joy to work with as we worked together a lot teaching me the ropes of the business along with my father .One thing that comes to mind is the day that we were moving chickens from farm to farm and I talked him into letting me drive the truck which we ended up being stopped by the motor vehicle branch back then .(probably I was about 13 or 14 ) I wanted him to give me is licence which I don't think he did , we were not able to talk our way out of that one, ended up with a fine and father not to happy with us .

Beth, Bevy, JOY, Robbie and families...how saddened we were to hear of Bill's passing...looking at all the pictures, there certainly are some wonderful memories, (that brought a few tears to my eyes,)treasure them dearly...even the Montreal Canadiens shirts, and we know how much he "loved" them!....the people wearing them, yes ❤...will miss that wonderful smile, but it will never be gone, as Robbie has the same smile ...his chuckle/laugh..we had alot of chats at Sobeys, when he'd come in to get groceries, over the years, or just walking thru the store resting on the shopping cart...didn't need anything, but he just might see someone he knew...like who didn't know Bill Armstrong?...one of the kindest , heartfelt man you will ever meet...was a privilege to know , and will miss him...treasure the wonderful memories of a man well loved, your dad/grandfather, and know his smile now smiles down on all of you...hugs...love you...Betty XoXoXo

Beth, Bev, Robbie, and Joy and all your families and Gladys and Faye We were very sorry to hear of Bill's passing. Whenever we passed his house or were at the nursing home across the street we looked for him. The Ness boys and the Armstrong boys were great friends and in a few escapades as well !!. Dad always called him Billy .I loved meeting up with him and having a chat. And that famous smile that he passed on to Robbie ! He will be missed. May all your precious memories sustain you at this time.

So sorry to hear of Bills passing. Always had a good talk and a few laughs when we met.I remember starting a ball team years ago in Belleisle and Bill was our catcher. A good ball player and usually got on base. The last time we talked I kidded him saying we were going to have a team this year. He said the bases would have to be awfully short.Glenna and Bill always had a good talk. We will certainly miss meeting him in the Malls. Sorry for all Randy and Glenna Vail

Beth, Bevy, Joy and Rob.....So very sorry to hear about your dad. Tom and I enjoyed talking to him about old times when we ran into him around town. He was my bus driver through high school and a great one at that. He and Lillian always welcomed me into their home during those years. It is even harder during these times to say say goodbye but know you all are being thought of and prayers being said.
