Obituary of James Goddard
Mr. James Harvey Goddard was born in Sussex on August 8, 1957.
Known to his family as James and to many friends and co-workers as Harvey.
James Harvey was full time self employed for the past 6 years as a Licensed Driller/Blaster, a job which he loved and never tired of. He was previously employed with the Department of Transportation, hired as a blaster in the beginning and over time was in the role of Supervisor at Keirstead Mountain. He worked for the D.O.T. from the fall of 1981 to the fall of 2004. James Harvey was a wonderful father and a kid at heart. He loved spending time with Kurt and Dustin: travelling, sports, learning from each other, their chats around the dining room table and the outdoor fire pit. He enjoyed lots of company and get-togethers. He had a wonderful taste for food and was never afraid to try anything new or abroad. He loved to ski especially with the boys and Dan the Man. He gave snowboarding a go with Martha, but both decided not to pursue that one any further. He loved the water and recently went sailing and had booked a kayaking trip for the 21st. He dreamed of retiring on the Belleisle Bay. He had a great sense of humor and was quite easy going.
James Harvey will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.
James Harvey will be missed and remembered fondly by his wife of 29 years; Mary Jane (Parlee) Goddard; his two sons: Kurt (Martha Frank) and Dustin (Chelsey Snyder); his parents: Harvey and Pauline Goddard; his sisters: Linda Breau and her husband Allen and his twin, Janice Candy and her husband Peter; his brother, Peter Goddard and his wife Georgetta; his mother and father-in-law, James and Betty Parlee; his brothers and sisters-in-law: Ronald and his wife Cris, Bob and his wife Ann, Danny and his wife Susan, Tommy and his wife Nina, Jack and his wife Louise and Sue Parlee and Leland Walton; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, many of which were dear to his heart and a very special great nephew, Jackson Seeley.
