Obituary of Linda Bailey
We rejoice for Linda Bailey, as she entered her eternal home on August 9th, 2020. She now joins her Lord and Savior, in Heaven, and no longer has any pain or sadness. As she believed, “we are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 5:8 KJV. While our hearts are heavy in her absence, there is peace in knowing she can breathe freely, and has received “the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.” James 1:12 KJV
Linda was born on April 17, 1952 in Stanley, New Brunswick, along with her twin sister, Brenda, to Kenneth and Jean Newell (nee Turnbull), formerly of Springfield, New Brunswick. As a graduate of Belleisle Regional High School, Linda went on to complete Teacher’s College in Fredericton. She married the love of her life, Brian Michael (“Mike”) Bailey, on May 25th, 1974, and had 3 children, Aaron, Seth, and Abby.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving wife and mother, Linda worked as a teacher, and owned and operated Superior Heating and Broadway Cycle & Ski alongside her husband. As a family, they enjoyed skiing, camping, and in their later years, wintering in Brooksville, Florida.
Linda was creative – always making beautiful, one of a kind cards for others. She was kind, thoughtful, and a dear friend to many. She gave her life to Christ shortly before marrying Mike, and was an active member of her church, Faith Bible Baptist Fellowship. Over the years she spent time helping with AWANA and Vacation Bible School.
She loved her kids, and she adored her grandchildren. She was always so proud of each of them, and quick to share about them with others. She was always eager to help, and was greatly saddened when Pulmonary Fibrosis, the disease that ended this life, kept her from being with them more fully.
Linda was predeceased by her twin sister, Brenda, and her mother, Jean. She is survived by her husband, Mike, her father, Ken Newell, her siblings Terry (Carolyn) Newell, Joyce (Vernon) Munro and Heather (Glenn) Totton, brother in law Norman Munro, her children, Aaron (Stela) Bailey, Seth (Katherine) Bailey, and Abby (Josh) Miller, and her grandchildren, Marshall (6), Maddox (4), Bianca (3), and Revy (2).
