Do not stand by my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am the thousand winds that blow, I am a diamond glint on snow, I am the sunshine on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awake in the morning hush, I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circling flight, I am the soft starshine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there, I did not die. Betty Loyalist (Thomson) Main, a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend left us with the most never-ending memories, constant smile, and love on August 22, 2020. Our Mum was ``special`` to all of us. She had a heart of gold and an amazing smile that will never be forgotten. She will forever be on the hearts of Deborah (Ken), Stephen (Wanda), Billy, Julie (Richard), and Geoffrey (Dawn); her sisters-in-law, Jean Main and June Main; her grandchildren: Tracey, Michael (Melanie) Jaime (Rick), Steff (Chris), Kristen (Christine), Stephanie (Jason), Christopher (Kendra), Tricia (Tom), Chuck, Ashley (Dylan), and Elizabeth (Darrell), Robbie (Julie), Jessica (Larry), Megan (Mike), and Alex; her great-grandchildren: Corey (Lilly), Brittany, Rylie, Keegan, Emma, Mia, Molly, Leaf, Cicily, Kean, Hannah, Derrika, Bentlee, Emily, Kyle (Nicole), Noah, Blake, Paisley, Samantha (Marcus), Cody, Ryan, Sierra, Gabe, Connor, Devon, Makenzie, Jayden, Felicity, Hudson, and Jaxon; her great-great-grandchildren: Ella, Meadow Marie Loyalist, Cooper, and Avery; along with several Nieces & Nephews, and many friends, especially Madeline Currie, Pauline Corbett, and Ann Marie Murphy. Betty Loyalist (Thomson) Main was born in Saint John, NB, on May 18, 1927. She was a daughter of the late Roy and Marion (Chamberlain) Thomson, and the wife of Charles T. Main who passed away in 2013. Betty grew up in Saint John where she attended public school and graduated from Saint John High School. The following year she went to Vocational School and took Business. She also attended Nursing School but chose business and started working for Lewin and Drummie as a stenographer. In 1950 Betty married her husband of 63 years, Charles, who was the love of her life. Betty was a wonderful mom, her children were her life, as were her grandchildren. In 1971 they move to Apohaqui when Charles opened his first Sussex Auto Supplies store. Betty had a little Hobby Farm, with horses, cows, pigs, and chickens. She loved her animals. Betty loved looking after her home and could be heard late at night (when Charles was away) singing as she was making lunches or painting a room. This was her ``special time``. In later years she went to work helping in the office. She loved meeting and chatting with all the people. Betty was well known in town for her convertibles, which came in handy, especially July 1st, in Apohaqui. Betty and Charles loved living in Apohaqui, but in the winter months they would go to Florida for a time. Betty was always glad for spring, for her return to her family. Betty also loved her church, ``The Church of the Ascension``, was a member of the ACW, and helped at all the church functions, especially the Big Turkey Supper. Betty had a wonderful life celebrating many important birthday`s and anniversary`s. Her last birthday was her 93rd, and was celebrated during COVID-19 with all her family social distancing, but out on the street loudly singing, ``Happy Birthday`` to her. As usual, her face lit up with her contagious smile. The family would like to thank Betty`s homecare workers Joan, Sherie, Nancy, Tracey, Jaime, and Melody, as well as the Extra Mural nurses for their weekly visits, and the nurses that kept her comfortable in room 20. It is with proud, loving thoughts, that our family invite you to join us in celebrating our Mum`s life at Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506) 433-1176, on Wednesday August 26, 2020 from 5:00 to 8:00pm, with social distancing guidelines in place. A private funeral service will be held for family only at her small church.
