To Louise, Nan and all family members.
It is so very sad to lose Laura and I am sending my sympathy to all her family. I have known Laura since joining the Kings County Historical Society back in 2002. Laura taught my brother-in-law, Fred Thorpe, in Gr 1 at the Darlings Island School. I have a beautiful rug that I purchased from Laura. Laura contributed articles to our KCH Society Newsletter. She had a huge reserve of local history to share. Laura will be missed by so many of us, but her contributions to the W.I. and the Agriculture of Kings County will be remembered.

We mourn with you the passing of a great lady. For eight years I was privileged to be Laura’s Pastor and I find it difficult to say who was more blessed, Laura or myself. Sincere sympathies to Mary Anne, her daughter Nicole; to Louise, her husband Jack & children Richard and Jocelyn; to John & Nan; to Stephen & Emily; to Bill & Rose and their families and to Judy. Over the years I would pick up Laura for a church service or to a Society Meeting; we frequently had the greatest phone conversations; she played the church organ on occasion and frequently we would sit in the choir section of the church, doing our best ! I will miss Laura and her positive attitude, always looking on the bright side in any event, even though at times health issues slowed her down, keeping her from getting things done. She so enjoyed painting, quilting, crafting for the 'Fair" and for the Apohaqui ACW fundraisers, and she made the best bread !! So many fond memories.
