Obituary of Lenore MacDonald
It is with great sadness that the family of Lenore MacDonald, age 84, wife of Clayton MacDonald, announces her death which occurred on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at Shannex Embassy Hall, Quispamsis, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 14, 1936, in Miramachi, NB, a daughter of the late Vincent and Bessie (McGraw) Williston.
Lenore, fondly known as “Nonie” to her family and friends, carried herself through life, as a caregiver of anyone who needed her. She loved and helped raise, not only her own grandchildren, but any of the many youngsters that walked through the door. She didn’t hesitate to drive her friends to the many social events in the community, or jump into a vehicle to travel across the continent. Nonie’s kindness and quiet manner was noted by her own caregivers, even in the last stages of her life. Nonie demonstrated the power of giving, laughter and love. She will be missed but never forgotten.
Lenore is survived by her husband Clayton; daughters: Cheryl McQuinn (Barry Buck), Lori MacDonald; grandchildren: Tania McQuinn (Mike Doucet), Max McQuinn, Jackson McQuinn (Micheala Tremblay), Mitch McQuinn, Cassidy McQuinn (Jordan Damery) and their father Shaun McQuinn, Theo MacDonald; great grandchild Mackenzie McQuinn; sisters: Mona Thomas, Gail (Ivan) Ramsay; brothers: Hugh (Eunice) Williston, Hub (Judy) Williston, Gary Williston; and nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Lenore was also predeceased by her sister-in-law Faye Williston and brother-in-law Bill Thomas.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) and will be held privately at this time.
