Joy Wendy (Darling) Biggley was born in Grostenquin France on April 27, 1957; she was the daughter of the late Everett Darling who passed away February 2, 1993 and Evelyn (Friars) Darling of Sussex. She was the younger sister to Gary, Wayne, Arnold and Terry. Joy was an Air Force "Brat" who travelled with her family to Cold Lake then Germany and finally back to Greenwood N.S. where she graduated from High School and then on to obtain her certificate in Hair Dressing. She settled in Weymouth N. S. where she formed some solid friendships that she has sustained through her life. In 1992 she settled here in Sussex, worked in retail at the Gateway Mall where her future husband, Steve Biggley, managed the Biway Department Store. They married in December 31, 1995 and worked together at the Biway and then the Dollar store. Before moving on to Newfoundland and eventually settling in Hamilton Ontario to be closer to Steve's family there. Joy continued to work in retail while living with Steve in Hamilton. Not having family of her own she showered her affections on her nieces and nephews. She also loved animals which translated into a family of cat parents; to Gracy and Butterscotch. Her interests ran from walking, cross stitch, knitting and gardening to a deep interest in researching the genealogy of both sides of her family. She was a small 4'11" package of energy and always had zest for life. Joy is greatly loved and will be dearly missed by her husband, Stephen; her mother, Evelyn; her brothers: Gary Darling and his wife Judy, Arnold Darling and his wife Sarah all of Sussex and Terry Darling and his wife Sherry of Bridgewater, NS., She was the beloved daughter-in-law of Bill and Helen Biggley and loving sister-in-law of Wayne and his wife Mary-Lynn, Bill and his wife Chiyo, Sandra, Michael and his wife Heather, Cheryl, David and his wife Bobbi-Joe, Darlene and her husband Paul and Carol and her husband Rick all of Ontario. She will also be sadly missed by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Joy was predeceased by her brother Wayne. It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mrs. Joy (Darling) Biggley of Hamilton, Ontario formerly of Sussex who passed away on June 21, 2010 at the age of 53.
