Mrs. Ferne E. Nelson was born in Edgetts Landing on October 9, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Enoch and Pearl (Carter) Milton and was the wife of the late Russell Nelson who passed away in 2004. Ferne enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with her pets and in her earlier years, sewing. She was a past member of the Mountain View Church in Lower Cape, Albert Co. She is survived by her daughter, Gail Scovil; Four sons: Merrill and his wife Dorothy, Eric and his wife Carole, Carter and his wife Carolyn and Garth and his wife Allison; her brother, Vaughan Milton and his wife Sylvia; Glendine Snyder and her husband Bernard and Judy Steeves; Seven grandchildren: Charlene, Eileen, Erica, Shannon, Nevin, Nichole and Karla; 12 Great Grandchildren: Jonathon, Katie, Tessa, Scott, Danielle, Ryan, Russell, Cara, Leah, Kennedy, Mitchell and Shelby; as well as several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother-in-law, Ivan Steeves and her son-in-law, George Scovil. Mrs. Ferne E. Nelson of Sussex passed away at the Moncton City Hospital on April 5, 2010 at the age of 88.
