Mrs. Greta Sleep was born on April 23, 1921, she was the wife of the late Herbert Sleep who passed away in 2007. Greta was a past member of the Coles Island LOBA; In earlier years, she enjoyed quilting, cooking and knitting and is fondly remembered for her amazing winter socks that she knitted, she also enjoyed travelling with Herbert and their yearly trips to Nashville and Newfoundland. Greta is survived by her sons: Gene and Glendon Sleep of Coles Island; her daughter-in-law, Betty Sleep of Coles Island; her brother, Arnold and his wife Ethel of Coles Island; her sister, Jennie Gallo and her husband Ernie of Hamilton; four grandchildren: Sherri, Shelly, Stacey and Michael; six great grandchildren: Richard, Cody, Brandy, Ryan, Krista and Megan; as well as several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sisters: Catherine, Mary, Sybil and Hazel and by her brothers: Leigh and Fred.. Greta Sleep passed away at her residence on April 4, 2010 at the age of 88.
