Obituary of Martha Fenwick
Martha was born in Picadilly on May 11, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Wortman of Mechanic Settlement and Della (Teakles) Wortman of Plumweseep and was the wife of the late Vernon Fenwick who passed away in 1984.
Martha was a member of The Salvation Army where she was also a member of the Home League and the Bible Study Group. She was a member of the Smith Creek Seniors, the Sussex Seniors Club, and was named volunteer of the year in Sussex. She was a former employee of Canada Packers, Barbour Foods, Tam O'Shanter, Friars Restaurant and Dixie Lee. Martha was kind, caring and so giving of herself. Her family and her God were most important in her life. She maintained a positive attitude while making sacrifices for her family regardless of her situation. Laughter came easily and words of praise and encouragement were often heard. She loved everyone in her family unconditionally. Her prayers for them would be to follow in her footsteps loving each other. Martha had been an example to her family, friends and community. May we never forget the values that she instilled to each one of us, over her lifetime.
Martha was the loving mother of: Barbara Kinnear and her husband Ritson, Grace Philpott, Dianne Buchanan and her husband Rick, George and his wife Debbie, Kathy O'Donnell and her husband Bryant, Avis Fenwick-Crawford and her husband Edwin, two brothers: Harold Wortman and his wife Helen and Doug Wortman and his wife Mary; three sisters: Helen Trepanier and her husband Clarence, Mildred Singleton and her husband Bob and Eva Ropp and her husband Joe; 16 grandchildren: Shane, Crystal, Sebrina, Leyan, Melissa, Nathan, Stacey, Aaron, Sarah, Elliot, Troy, Jennie, Lacia, Jason and Angela; 17 great grand-children: Elijah, Cassandra, Emma, Zoe, Miley, Olivia, Katrina, Ava, Aaron, Kiana, Roman, Sofia, Jacob, Brittany, Brody, Marcia and Katelyn as well as several nieces and nephews. Martha was predeceased by her brothers: William and Robert Wortman.
Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Fenwick of Kings Manor Sussex passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at the Sussex Health Centre on February 24, 2010 at the age of 82.
