Kevin was born in Ferryland, Newfoundland on August 26, 1932 and moved to Happy Valley, Labrador in 1952. He serenaded the most beautiful woman in the world, captured her heart and Josephine Vickers proudly became Mrs. Kevin Hynes on June 13th, 1959. He was known for his great sense of humour and his smile could light up the nation. He had the ability to make you believe when you thought you couldn't. His first passion lay with his family and his second lay with helping as many people as he possibly could. He was a proud Charter and Fourth degree member of Bishop Lionel Scheffer Council #6378 in Happy Valley. Kevin is survived by his wife Josephine, three daughters: Phyllis Clarke and her husband Mark, Cathleen LaFave and her husband Brent and Jacqueline Hynes; his son Kevin Hynes, three brothers: John and his wife Betty, Fred and his wife Thelma and Howard and his wife Evelyn; his sister, Phyllis Walsh and her husband Roy, his sister-in-law, Ann White and her husband Cliff, two brothers-in-law: Ed Vickers and his wife Bernadette and Pat Vickers and Josephine; his aunts and uncles: Aiden, Peter, Maria, Rita and Cecilia; 10 grandchildren: Mark, Joshua, Allan, Julia, Kevin Patrick, Ashlee, Jessica, Kaitryn, Laura and Jennifer; as well as several nieces and nephews and a large circle of friends. He was predeceased by his infant son, Robert; his mother Angela; his father Howard; three sisters-in-law, Theresa Vickers, Maude Tobin and Imelda Williams; and by his brother-in-law, Michael Vickers. Mr. Kevin Hynes of Happy Valley, Labrador and passed peacefully at his daughter's residence on January 19, 2010 at the age of 77.
