Obituary of Gordon Hall

Mr. Gordon Murray Hall was born in Lower Millstream on April 27, 1935, he was the son of the late Charles and Mable (Gaunce) Hall. He attended school in Lower Millstream. He went to work as a young man on many area wood-lots usually with Jones Brothers Crews, returning to the family farm which he still operated. He was a dedicated collector of interesting memorabilia: Coca-Cola, John Deere, lanterns, bottles and many other collectables. Auction sales were always of interest. He was willing to help with events at the Agricultural Museum of NB when required, appreciating their efforts to preserve our Heritage. Cribbage was always a delightful challenge, spending many hours with friends weekly. He had a keen interest and knowledge of the land in which to provide for his dairy operation. A lot about weather and stars were learned from his grandfather, Edward Hall in Jordon Mountain who was a pretty accurate weather forecaster. Gordon had a great memory for dates and events. Gordon is survived by his daughter, Sharon Hall-Kay and her husband Sam of Fredericton; his son, Arthur Hall and his wife Cathy of Saint John; his sisters: Helen Bettle (Carl) of Fox Hill and Muriel McCullum (Roy) of Fox Hill; Carol McDonald of Lower Millstream who was like a daughter to him; nine grandchildren, his great granddaughter, his uncle, Frank Gaunce of Lower Millstream; his aunt, Frances Long of Smith Creek; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Gordon Hall of Lower Millstream passed away on November 27, 2009 at the age of 74. Gordon was predeceased by his sister, Ruth. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where visitation will be held on Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm.
