Obituary of Mary Brown
Mary Rita Brown passed away peacefully at the Sussex Health Center with her family by her side, after a brief illness on November 27, 2009 at the age 80. Born in Bloomfield Ridge on May 14, 1929 to the late Martin and Genevieve (Constantine) Boyle. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Eldon Lawrence Brown. They moved to Poodiac, NB in December 1963, where in addition to helping run the family farm, Mary was a teacher for 26 years, teaching in a variety of schools in Markhamville, Poodiac, Hillsdale and Sussex Corner. In May 2009 they moved to Sussex, NB. Mary was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, the Sussex G.R.S. Radio Club and the Teacher's Association of NB. She loved to knit, read and watch her game shows, especially the Price is Right with Bob Barker. In Addition to her husband, Mary leaves behind her sons: Anthony and his wife Marlene of Norton, Adrian and his wife Lorraine of Kanata, ON and Keith and his wife Rose of Salt Springs, NB; her daughters: Marcene Porelle and her husband Paul of Moncton and Cheryl Ellis and her husband Harvey of Quispamsis; her daughter-in-law, Grace Brown of Orleans, ON; her sister, Lucy McGivery of Bloomfield Ridge, NB. Mary was a devoted grandmother to 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and Aunt to several nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her son, Allison, her sister, Helen; her brothers: Stephen and Goldwyn and her grandson, Timothy Porelle.
