Obituary of Greta Adair
Mrs. Greta Irene Adair of Waterford passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on October 27, 2009 at the age of 84.
Born in Markhamville on February 2, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Sarah (Allen) McFarlane and was the wife of the late Cecil Adair who passed away in 1994.
Greta is survived by four daughters: Mae Goddard and husband Robert of Waterford, Sheila Chambers and husband Elmer of Adair Road, Dayle Kelly and husband William (Bill) of Moncton and Karen Hay and husband Kevin of Adair Road; four sons: Wayne of Waterford, George and his wife Enid of Adair Road, Larry and his wife Ida of Shepody and Kevin and Heather of Sussex Corner; two brothers: Leon and his wife Reta of Waterford Road and Raymond and his wife Jane of Sussex; three sisters: Lois Esmond and husband Dennis of New Westminster, BC, Helen McLeod of Quispamsis and Marguerite Keys of Sussex; her daughter-in-law, Alicia Adair of Sussex; her sister-in-law, Freda McFarlane of Adair Rd; her brothers-in-law, Nelson McFarlane and Oscar Adair and his wife Marlene; 24 grandchildren: Dion Goddard and his wife April of Waterford, Lana Keirstead and her husband Rick of Sussex Corner, Drew Goddard and his wife Lyndsay of Picadilly, Lisa Hutchinson and her husband Andrew of Penobsquis, Shelley Doyle and her husband Jeff of Summerfield, Angela Robinson and her husband Derek of Sussex, Trevor Chambers of Adair Rd., Scot Adair and his wife Diana of Adair Rd, Terry Adair and his wife Julie of Sussex Corner, Stacy Kelly and Danny Auffrey of Dieppe, Randy Kelly and his wife Janice of Colpitts Settlement, Pam Kelly and Kenny Babkirk of Moncton, Natasha Gravlin and her husband Peter of New Hampshire, USA, Shane Adair and his wife Charlene of Sussex, Adam Hay of Adair Rd, Eric Hay and Danielle Clement of Quirk Rd, Jacqueline, Emily and Sophie Adair of Sussex Corner, Kristine and Jason Adair of Sussex, Justin, Josh, Lukas McKnight of Sussex; 22 great grandchildren: Ryan, Renee, Devin, Joshua, Jared, Ashley, Kurtis, Khloe, Deven, Delaney, Aiden, Aleigha, Georgia, Bronwyn, Owen, Jake, Courtney, Nathan, Autumn, Peter, Wyatt and Hayden; her friend Val Mitton of Sussex; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Greta is predeceased by her brothers: Milford and Stewart McFarlane; her sisters: Ruby McFarlane and Vivien Snyder; her sisters-in-law, Dorothy McFarlane and Olive McFarland and by three brothers-in-law: Murray Keys, Willard McLeod and Murray Snyder.
