Obituary of Betty Taylor
Betty was born in Saint John on September 30, 1938; she was the daughter of the late Alan and Muriel (Miller) Albert and was the wife of the late Gordon Taylor who passed away in 1987.
Betty was a former nurses aide having worked at the Saint John Provincial Hospital and the Loch Lomond Nursing Home. She was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch #20 for many years.
Over Betty's many years with our Legion she was involved in many areas. Betty was involved with Bingo, Entertainment, Poppy Campaign, she organized and looked after the Craft Sale every November for a number of years as well as our in house Flea Markets, she worked in the kitchen and was chairman of our Shuffleboard league for many years and in past years when called upon to do so helped at the door of many dances and other functions selling 50/50 tickets and signing people in. If there was a job Betty could help she was there. Betty was on the Executive for many years staying involved even when she was having her own difficulties.
Betty will live on in the hearts of her daughter, Ella-May Connors and her husband Phillip of Wards Creek; two grandchildren: Megan and Kathleen; her brother, Joe Albert and Diana Stewart of Stewarton,
nieces: Laura Albert, Linda McCormick and her husband David, Brenda Tingley, Lisa Gallagher, Debbie Losier and her husband David; nephews: Alan Albert, Ronald Taylor, Carl Gallagher and his wife Noreen; and Donnie Gaudet who boarded with her.
Elizabeth Dorothy Taylor of Sussex passed away at the Sussex Health Center on October 5, 2009 at the age of 71.
