Dorothy Mae "Dot" Pearson was born in Sussex Corner, NB on November 19, 1938; she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Mae (Spencer) Otis. Dot graduated from Sussex High School in 1956, joined the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) and was stationed in Trenton, ON. In 1959, she married Clifford Ruttan, also of the RCAF and had two children Brent and Kim. Dot returned to Sussex in 1973 and in 1978, she embarked on a career with Charm Diamond Centres. Dot retired from her role with Charm as a Manager/Supervisor in 2001, but worked periodically on special projects and provided administrative and sales support until 2008.
