Mrs. Mary Steeves was Born in Saint John on November 24th, 1925, Mary grew up in the Great Depression. This time had a profound effect on Mary for the rest of her life. She had a large family of 3 brothers and 3 sisters, to whom she was very close. Mary would always talk of her beloved father, Frank, who; though having only one leg , was the primary source of financial and emotional stability for his family by shining shoes at the Saint John City Market, where he was known and loved by all.
