Obituary of Leonard Stevens
Leonard was born at the Kings County Memorial Hospital in Sussex June 26th 1955. He grew up on the farm and was 1 of 11 children of Rupert and Alice (Cook) Stevens. He started school in a one room school house and graduated from Chipman Regional High School in 1972. He later moved on and went to carpentry school.
On December 21st 1974, Leonard married Ronda Hakker and in 1975 they began their family, Stephanie in 1975, Julie in 1976, and Travis in 1978. Leonard loved being in the woods was the envy of many with his chain saw skills.
Leonard is survived by his mom, Alice; his wife, Ronda; his daughter, Julie Stevens (David Trites); his son, Travis Stevens (Katie Parlee); seven sisters: Donna Dickson, Lynda Kilpatrick, Lorna Stevens-Albert (Joe), Bonnie Appleby (Eldon), Margaret St. Pierre (Burt), Anna-Marie Stevens-Keirstead (Jerry) and Heather Welton; three brothers: Beverley (Margaret), Brian (Elizabeth) and Craig; five grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Leonard was predeceased by his infant daughter, Stephanie; his brother, Ernest and two brothers-in-law: Frank Welton and Ralph Kilpatrick.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where visitation was held.
A Celebration of Leonard's life was held from Wallace Community Chapel on Sunday, August 9th, 2009 at 1:00 pm.
