Obituary of Florence Vincent
Mrs. Florence Winnifred Vincent of Moncton and formerly of Sussex passed away at her residence on July 20, 2009 at the age of 89. Born in Norton on January 17, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Minnie (Keirstead) MacFarlane and was the wife of the late Douglas Vincent who passed away in 1991. Florence was the youngest of five children of Minnie and Roy who was the baggage master at the Norton train station. By all accounts of her sisters, Elsie and Kathleen, she was treated as "the baby of the family" and spoiled by all. Florence Winnifred - how she hated her middle name - MacFarlane was born on a stormy January night in Norton, NB. A sleigh was summoned and her mother was taken to the midwifes home for her "lying in". She was the youngest of five children of Minnie and Roy who was the baggage master at the Norton train station. By all accounts of her sisters, Elsie and Kathleen, she was treated as "the baby of the family" and spoiled by all. In her youth Flo enjoyed swimming in the river in the summer and skating. Flo married Doug in 1950 and immediately left for Toronto.
