Obituary of Robert Joseph Lavoie
Mr. Robert Joseph Lavoie was born in Saint-Fidèle, Quebec on January 11, 1938; He was the son of the late Roland and Alexina (Martin) Lavoie and the husband of the late Eleanor Florence (Shay) (Price) Lavoie who passed away in 2018.
Bob worked as the Milkman for Sussex Cheese and Butter for many years. His deep love of driving is what sparked his passions for travel. You never knew where he and Eleanor would end up. They loved to be on the go, from a train trip to Vancouver and the drive back to a bus trip to Alaska – they were always on an adventure together.
Bob will live on in the hearts of his children: Joe Lavoie and his wife Krista of Jemseg, Mary Sutton and her husband Ron of Moncton, Donna Jeffries and her husband James of Sussex, Art Lavoie of Cumberland Bay, Norman Lavoie and his wife Kathleen of Union Settlement and Everett Lavoie and his wife Brenda of Burton; his siblings: Tom Lavoie of Minto, Ferdinand Lavoie of Millstream, Rolande “Dolly” Roy of Bathurst, Luc Lavoie and his wife Julia of Miramichi, Lucienne Lloyd of Rockland, Charles Lavoie of Vancouver, Simone Lavoie of Sussex, Leona MacKay and her husband Danny of Newline and Yolande Lavoie of Hartland; his grandchildren: Justus (Rebecca), Jody, Jolaine, Special grandson, John, Billy (Serena), Amanda, Alex, Jordan (Danielle), Jacob, Kane (Ashley), Kaley (Jamie) and Rebecca; eleven great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Robert Joseph Lavoie of Whites Mountain passed away at the Sussex Health Center on January 16, 2021 at the age 83.
Along with his parents and wife, he is predeceased by his brother, Marcel; his sisters: Madeline and Lydia; his grandson, Troy Lavoie and his niece, Jerusha MacKay.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). Due to Covid-19 there will be a memorial service held at a later date.
