Obituary of Frances Florence Chestnut
Mrs. Frances Florence Chestnut was born in Ludlow, Northumberland County on September 25, 1931; she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Elizabeth (Clowater) Nagle.
During World War II, Clifford Chestnut would meet the Nagle brothers while he was posted with the NB Rangers. Little did he know upon his return from the war, he would meet the love of his life, Frances Nagle and together they would build and celebrate their love for 72 wonderful years.
Frances was a hard worker and never liked to be idle. Throughout her years, she worked for Stedman’s, the Met, Barbour Foods, McCready’s and the kitchen at the Kiwanis Nursing Home. In her earlier years, she even cleaned homes.
She enjoyed every moment spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved yard sales, knitting, cards, quilting and gardening; she was a proud member of the Trinity Anglican Church congregation, the Anglican Church Quilter’s Guild and a proud supporter of the Orange Lodge.
She will live on in the hearts of her loving husband of 72 years, Clifford R. Chestnut; their children: Dianna Carhart and her husband Brian of Berwick, Robert Chestnut and his wife Michelle of Sussex, Bill Chestnut and his wife Jean of Sussex, James Chestnut and his wife Marlene of London, ON, Stephen Chestnut and his wife Cindy of Waterville, Maine, Cliff Chestnut and his wife Susan of Apohaqui and Jeffrey Chestnut and his wife Leah of London, ON; her grandchildren: Richard Carhart (Shawn), Shannon Carhart (Odessa), Charlotte Chestnut (Michael Garcia), Peter Chestnut (Liis Valjaots), Jaret Chestnut (Bobbi), Deanna Chestnut, Monika Chestnut (Michelle Boyce), Stephanie Chestnut (Adam Bernier), Austin Chestnut, Josh Chestnut (Melanie), Melissa Russell (Dwayne), Paul Chestnut (Amanda), Natasha Chestnut (Liam Mather), Nicholas Chestnut (Melissa), Tess Chestnut, Matthew Chestnut and Jared Chestnut; her great grandchildren: Taylor, Dayna, Kingsley, Gabriela, Riley, Will, Riley, Madison, Jacob, Molly, Abigail, Quinton, Bella, Ethan, Porter and Madison; as well as several nieces and nephews.
