I have known Mum and Dad most of my adult life, they were my neighbours in Chatham NB in 1969, so we knew a lot of the same people, I met Greg years later in Comox BC we fell in love and were married in 1975 , so Bertha became my Mother in-law we did so much reminiscing about Chatham, we loved Military life , it was a great life , in 1977 we were posted to Saint John, and we were fortunate enough to live in Hampton for 4 years , there was a lot of travelling back and forth to Apahaqui, so we were able to meet all the Mc Kay’s , and some of the Robinson’s, neighbour and friends, we were then posted out West ,Mum and Dad made many trips out to visit us , they developed a real bond with the Grandchildren, we were able to make a few trips down home for a visit , we loved NB and all our extended family and friends, we are going to miss you so much Mum, you will forever be in my heart, but never far away, thank you so much for all the memories, your loving daughter in law , Marleen, Royden, Angela , Lana , Sarah, Cameron

We loved going over to visit Bertha and to listen to the stories of her travels and adventures. Her very liberal view of the world was awesome. She and Bill were a huge part of our growing up. She was a truly unique and bright light that will be missed. Thinking of all of you. Rob and Lyndsay.

Bertha was like having another grandmother, only just across the street. She always made us feel welcome (best sliding hill in the neighbourhood!) and spoiled us with cookies and pop whenever we stopped by while she asked of our latest adventures. I loved seeing how active she was - even cross country skiing in her her late years - and so outgoing with her circle of friends. She was and will always be an inspiration with her strength, determination, humour and care for others. Hugs to you all.

I loved Bertha. She was one of the original members of our ladies life group and she always had something worthwhile to add to the study. She was so knowledgeable about so many topics.
She loved the Boston Bruins and she and Frank had that in common.
She lived life to the full. Hers was a life worthwhile.
Our sympathy to the family. You have lost a special lady.

A kinder, gentler person you will never meet. May God bless her and keep her in His hand. May he also bring the holy spirit to the family at this time of grief to console and keep you strong in her light.
I remember when I was a small boy uncle Bill and Aunt Bert would visit and the adults would play cards and there would be a lot of laughter and bantering and fist pounding on the table as they had agreat time
Aunt Bert was right in the thick of it all. Then she always had time to talk to us little ones and try to get us into conversation. What a great time it was.
May God bless her and keep her in his hand.
And may He grant peace to all her family.

With all of the love in our hearts,we send along deepest sympathy to you Barry and family; Marlene and family; and to Marjorie and family. She was a steady light for so many years in our lives and we all will shed tears at our loss. She will be happy to see Uncle Bill again and get into a good game of cards with him,our Mom Evelyn and all the family that preceded her.. There are so many she loved and was loved by who will have a great reunion with her. I hope you don't mind if I share a wee story---When we were stationed in Germany I was called home because my Mom was in dire straits in hospital in Saint John and I flew home. Was staying at my brother Michael's in Sussex and Aunt Bertha came to pick me up to drive down to the city to see her . When I got in the car she ALMOST went into the small ditch at MIchael's. Her response--" Oh,that's nothing." " Patsy,I am no Evel Kneivel but I will get us there. " She and I had a good laugh about that in later years. There are so many dear memories I have of her from different places where she lived. I will miss her always. Love and BIG hugs to all of you. John,Pat and girls xoxoxo
