Obituary of Eileen Hardy

It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Eileen (McLaughlin) Hardy, on March 21, 2021 at the Sussex Health Center. Born in Sussex on January 25, 1952, she was a daughter to the late Henry & Ellen (Sanford) McLaughlin.

Eileen was a ray of sunshine, happiness radiated from her; no matter how bad your day was going, a hug from her always made you feel better. She welcomed people into her life with open arms, and always wanted to make sure everyone around her was happy. She was often to be found outside, whether it be in the barn, gardening, or building something with a hammer and some nails. She particularly enjoyed painting, and loved to go fishing. She was crazy about animals big and small, and was even riding horses fairly regularly.

Eileen is survived and sadly missed by her husband, George Robert Hardy of Cassidy Lake; her daughter, Jenny McLaughlin of Cassidy Lake; her brothers: William McLaughlin of Cassidy Lake, David McLaughlin of Plumweseep, Gary McLaughlin (Tracey) of Havelock and Fred McLaughlin (Jane) of Sussex Corner; her sisters, Gloria Payne of Sussex and Marie McLaughlin (Doug) of Waterford as well as several nieces and nephews.

Eileen is predeceased by her brother, Philip McLaughlin; her sister, Theresa Middleton; her brothers-in-law, Frank Middleton and Frank Payne; her sister-in-law Jessie McLaughlin and her nephew James Middleton.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB, from where public visitation will be held on Thursday, March 25th from 2:00pm – 4:00pm & 6:00pm – 8:00pm. A private graveside interment will be held at a later date.

If desired, donations may be made out to the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Association of the Deaf or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences and donations may be made at www.WallaceFuneralHome.com
