Obituary of Elsie Sprague Gray

It is with sadness the family announces the passing of E. Elsie Sprague Gray, 94, of Sussex on July 15, 2021 surrounded by her family. Born in Havelock, she was a daughter to the late Aldon & Clara (McEwen) Thorne.

Elsie was a member of the Trinity Anglican Church, member of the Trinity A.C.W, a Diocesan Lay Reader, a member of Prince Edward Temple #22, Pythian Sisters and a member and Past President of the Royal Canadian Legion Auxiliary, Sussex Branch.

Elsie is survived and sadly missed by her son, Richard (Georgette) Sprague of Glenvale; her daughters, Linda (late Jim) Thornton of Fredericton and Angela (late Donald) Caissie of Galloway; her step daughter, Christine (Ken) Crandall of Riverview; her brothers, Donald (late Aileen) of Sussex and Eldon (Marilyn) Thorne of Sussex Corner; her grandchildren: Todd, Cory, Ryan, Stacy, Shelly, Kelly, Patrick, Kevin and Jason; her step grandchild, Jonathan; 12 great grandchildren, 5 step great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Elsie was predeceased by her first husband, Edgar Sprague; her second husband, Gerald Gray; her brother, Pearson Thorne; her step grandchild Jordan and her great great grandchild, Maverick.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex (506-433-1176) from where visitation will be held on Monday, July 19th from 2:00pm – 4:00pm & 6:00pm – 8:00pm. A funeral service will be held the following day, July 20th at 11:00am from the Trinity Anglican Church. Due to Covid-19 regulations, we ask that you please call to reserve your seat for the funeral. Interment will take place in the Trinity Anglican Cemetery immediately following the service.
