I planned an event a few years ago, was so surprised and happy to see Deanna had come. I would bump into her every once in a while and get caught up on things and then talk decorating. At the fundraiser Deanna won a gift certificate . When everyone was leaving she found me and gave the gift card back that she had won. She insisted on it, saying it was for a good cause. No one knew what she had done..... she was indeed a rare gem. Hope you find comfort knowing how many people she touched and the legacy she left behind.

I believe I was in grade 2 when I first met Deanna. She had brought Adam back to class from the hospital after he got hit in the eye with a snowball at recess. She walked him in with a patch over his eye and looked at everyone and said in that calming voice - ‘hello class, I’m Adams mom. He’s going to be just fine’. She had this presence about her that made us all feel better. From that day on, every time I saw Deanna I remembered that day. We laughed over it in later years when we ran into each other. She was the most kind, gentle, humble, beautiful woman. She was adored by everyone who knew her. I’m so sorry for the sudden loss of your beloved mother and wife. Sending so much love and many prayers to all of the family. Deanna was a timeless beauty, inside and out. Wife, Mother, Nana, Sister, Aunt, Friend "extraordinaire!!". She made everyone she was with feel special.
I will treasure the moments, laughter and stories I was blessed to share with her- oh boy, pretty sure the McQuinn clan shared far too many stories in grade 1!! God love her... was there ever a more patient teacher??
Deanna was our saving grace during the historic renovations at Sharp's Corner Drug Store...memories of this project will stay with me forever. With respect to designing/decorating...she wasn't long setting us straight, in the very kindest of ways and with that gentle voice, on the way things should look. We learned so much from her. In fact, there's rarely a day goes by at work that somehow her name doesn't come up, especially when creating window displays or undertaking seasonal decorating. How many times Beth and I will catch each other saying..ooooh...nope...Deanna would NOT go for that.... we'd scramble to get it out of the window as fast as we could!...or "I wonder what Deanna would think of this?"...she was always just a phone call and an ear away, so generous with her time.
How kind she was to Bev,...right down on her hands and knees, amongst the cobwebs and dust, digging out old items, family photos and heirlooms from his attic. She would sit with him as he cheerfully regaled her with colourful stories about the things she had found. With her talent, she was able to channel these feelings and stories into the arrangement of the photos, creating the most beautiful mural inside the store... taking one back through time, for all to experience, to reminisce and enjoy. What an absolute gift, especially for Bev and Dad!
I will never forget how she could walk into a room and you would hear people greet her with, "DEANNA, HI!!... THE HAPPIEST lilt to their voice.. simply put, she brought joy.
How she loved you all, and was so proud to share stories about your ventures and adventures! I, along with so many others, dearly loved Deanna and share in your sadness. Her life will continue to be celebrated and remembered in so many ways.

So sorry to hear of Deanna"s passing - a great friend and mother-in-law to our Son Shawn - which brought great joy to us to have her in our lives. Deanna will be missed by many people. Our thoughts are with Bob and all the family - Troy, Adam, Tara, and Tyler.
