Geraldine Dunn

Obituary of Geraldine Mary Dunn

Geraldine Mary Dunn was born in Seals Cove, St George's, Newfoundland on July 20, 1925. She was the daughter of the late William and Margaret (White) Bennett and the wife of the late Maurice Dunn.

Geraldine was a homemaker for the majority of her life. She worked for several neighbors and at Barbour’s during pickling season and Uncle Fred’s.

Because of the caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother that she was, Geraldine will be sorely missed. But greater than the sorrow from her death is the joy that she spread in her life. Each child and grandchild have joyful and fond memories of the "oh so" many funny times with me.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She will live on in the hearts of her children: Joseph Dunn (Shirley), Mary Dunn (Graham), Gregory Dunn (Sandra), Donald Dunn (Sandra), Kevin Dunn (Patricia) and Treasa Mercer (Garry); 10 grandchildren: Philip (Sara), Heather (Sean), Jeremy (Michelle), Sarah, Kimberly (Tony), Krista (Adam), Derrick (Ronda), Alisha (Pete), Kelsie (Jake) and Meagan (Al); 14 great grandchildren: Charlotte, Dalton, Olivia, Victoria, Dustin, Kevin, Nathan, Kayla (Ryan), Jennica, Kacey, Cory, Gracelyn, Ariah and Ethan; 3 great great grandchildren: Callie, Gracelyn and Adley; her furbaby, Lucky; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Geraldine Mary Dunn passed away peacefully at the Sussex Health Center on November 9, 2021 at the age of 96.

Along with her parents and her husband, she is predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Thurber; her brothers: Leo, George, Augustine and Gordon Bennett and by her great great grandson, Lincoln Keith.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176). A private graveside service will be held at Wards Creek Cemetery.
