Obituary of William Neil Downs

William “Bill” Neil Downs passed away into the loving arms of his Savior at Sussex Health Centre on Saturday November 27, 2021. He was the husband of the late Jean (Lagerquist) Downs. Bill was born in Meaford, ON on June 16, 1951, a son of the late Mel and Florence (Evers) Downs.

He was raised in Ontario, moved to the Durham Region where he worked for Dupont as a faithful employee for over 35years. He met the love of his life Jean and they celebrated 43 years of marriage before her passing.

Bill was very active in the church and traveled doing music ministry over the years. He loved to help others and enjoyed a good laugh which was often shared in the company of his many friends.

Bill is survived by his son Nathan Downs and his wife Janice (Wassell) of Woodstock, NB; his only grandson Justus Downs; his siblings: Orville and his wife Nancy Downs, Betty (Downs) Catherwood, Paul Downs and his wife Eunice; along with several nieces and nephews. 

He will be sadly missed by his many friends and family. 

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex NB (506-433-1176) and will be held privately at this time. His remains will be laid to rest in Oshawa, ON beside his loving wife Jean, in the Spring.
