Obituary of Gladys Marie Kyle

Gladys Marie Kyle was born in Lower Kars, NB on December 13, 1931. She was the youngest daughter of late James and Beatrice (Ferris) Stackhouse.

Gladys went to Saint John High School and graduated from Saint John Vocational School. After graduating in 1950, Glady taught grades 1-6 in a one room schoolhouse for two years. After her teaching position ended, she lived in Martinon, NB with her parents while working in Saint John.

In 1956, She met the love of her life, Lew Kyle. They were married on June 15, 1957, and they were married for 55 years until he passed away in July of 2012. In March of 1961, Glady and Lew welcomed a daughter, Angie. From then on Glady was a stay-at-home mom - a job that she treasured. Gladys loved children. Over the years she provided care to many families.

Glady loved the Lord and her faith was strong. She was very active in her church. She taught Sunday School, AWANA, vacation bible school and was a member of the WMS.

Being the youngest of ten children, she had a large extended family on her side and Lew's. Nothing gave her more pleasure than being with her family and friends. She spent many an hour talking to her family and friends on the phone.

Glady was very active in her community of Geary. She was a member of the Geary Lauvina Women’s Institute and was always there when people were in need.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She will live on in the hearts of her daughter, Angie Kyle of Sussex Corner, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.

Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her loving husband of 55 years, Lew; her brothers: Whitfield, Victor, Frank and Gordon and by her sisters: Nora Allan, Helen Mallory, Lena Armstrong, Lucy Stackhouse, Bessy London and Emma Homer.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), from where visitation will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 1-3 and 6-8pm.
