Obituary of Cecily Diane Roach

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Cecily Diane (O'Neill) Roach announces her passing.

She tackled a long difficult battle with mesothelioma that she fought with strength and dignity.

On December 15, 2021 in Codys, NB, completely at peace, ready and surrounded by family and friends, Cecily passed on to collect her much deserved angel wings. She was the daughter of the late William and Catherine (MacDonald) O'Neill.

Cecily loved life, her family, friends and adventure. She was always quick to try something new, make new friends and lend a helping hand.

She will live on in the heart of her companion, Michael Boyd of Codys who holds a special place in the hearts of Cecily's family. He provided her personal care 24/7 over the past year with love and patience and never left her side.   She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Catherine Ann Roach of Pembroke, ON, William Robert Roach (Tanya) of Calgary, AB;  her sisters: Peggy Stiles (Paul) of Berwick, NB and Ann Evans (Paul) of Sydney NS;  her sister-in-law, Francine O'Neill of Glace Bay, NS;  her grandchildren: Asia Jane, Savanah, Gianna, Michael, William, AJ, Farrah Dawn and Tarra;  as well as her goddaughter, Marsha MacNeil (Michael) with whom she had a very special friendship.

Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Clee Martell; her brothers: John and Kevin O'Neill and the father of her children, William Robert "Bobby" Roach.

Cecily's family would like to extend a special word of appreciation for her Extra Mural care team whose professionalism and care were second to none.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), from where visitation will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2021 from 12-3pm. Due to the recent COVID-19 regulations, proof of government identification and vaccination must be provided for entry and masks are mandatory.
