Ken DeForest was born in Waterford on May 10, 1917; he was the son of the late John Henry and Iva Eloise (Flewelling) DeForest and was the husband of the late Doreen (Smith) McGarrigle-DeForest who passed away February 7, 1994. Kenneth was a mixed farmer, worked in the lumber camps in Shepody, and drove rural mail from the Waterford Post Office. He worked all his life on the Deforest family farm in Waterford.
