Bob McLeod was born to the late William Charles and Katherine May (Burnham) McLeod in Cape Tormentine, on August 12, 1947. During his school years at the "Cape" Bob enjoyed all the activities country life had to offer. He particularly looked forward to fishing each spring, swimming and beach combing during the summer, and hunting each fall. Fishing and hunting pursuits became his major "recreational" focus throughout his life. There were always many great hunting and fishing stories/tales to be told during his many gatherings with friends. Upon graduation from High School, Bob ventured west and worked with his brother Bill for a year with Canadian Bechtel Corporation in Fort McMurray, Alberta. Shortly thereafter, Bob was successful in gaining entry into the RCMP, finishing his basic training and received his first posting to Baie Verte, Newfoundland.
