The death of Alice Mildred Chown of Gibbon Mountain occurred at the Kiwanis Nursing Home on November 28, 2009 at the age of 94. Born in Searsville, NB, she was a daughter of the late Lee and Maggie (Johnson) Folkins and was the wife of the late William Walter Chown. Alice is survived by her son George (Sherrill) Chown of Gibbon Mountain, her grandchildren Robin Chown, Noel (Carlene) Chown and Lawana (Akinade) Adepoju, great grandchildren; Gabriel, Chloe and Michael and her sister-in-law Evelyn Folkins. Alice was predeceased by sisters; Greta Butler, Jean Sprague and Bernice Bovaird and her brother Tom Folkins. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433-2133) on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9PM. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday December 1, 2009 at 11:00AM in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Allison MacLean officiating. Interment will be at the Kierstead Mountain Baptist Cemetery. Donations made to the Palliative Care at the Kiwanis Nursing Home would be appreciated.
