She was a true people person, caring for everyone she ever met. Touching so many lives, she lived her life to the fullest. Born at Hidden Hollow, Millbrook, she was the fifth to be born of eight children. Her hobbies included rug hooking, crocheting, knitting, scrap booking, picture taking and painting. Clara loved to travel. Known as the “Rolling Pin Lady” she owned 1134 rolling pins. She knew the names of every flower and tree that God created. She loved the outdoors and, in her younger years, worked on the farm. Ora and she also attended many square dances. A member of the WA, St. Marks Guild, 50 Plus Club and The Tea Room Hookers, she influenced so many lives. Clara led Juniors for 24 years and has been a faithful member of St. Mark’s Anglican Church since 1946. In recent years she has read at nursing homes as an honorary member of the Happy-Go-Lucky Fiddlers and is considered the Matriarch of the Tea Room Hookers. She has written a book on rug hooking: Hooked on Rag Hooking. Most of all Clara was content as a homemaker, loved her family and the closeness of her friends and neighbors.
