The death of Catherine (Kate) Pearl McShane of Sussex occurred at the Sussex Health Centre on May 9, 2003. Born in North River, NB on September 28, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Rufus and Delilah (Rogers) Fawcett. She was predeceased by her husband Dennis McShane who passed away in 1984. Kate is survived by her daughter, Anne Marie Hourihan (Robert) of Sussex, grandchildren, Maureen Hourihan (Stephen Keys), Anthony (Kyla) Hourihan and Patrick (Andrea) Hourihan and great grandchildren Kaitlin Hourihan and Samantha Robinson. She was predeceased by her sisters; Lena Carr, Lillian Bartlett, Zilpha Cundy and brothers Tillman Rogers and Mel Fawcett. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433-2133) on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church, Sussex on Monday May 12, 2003 at 11:30 AM. Father Peter Bagley officiating. Interment will be in Wards Creek Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations made to the NB Lung Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
