The death of Zeta Genevieve Hawkes of Sussex, NB occurred at the Kiwanis Nursing Home on December 13, 2002. Zeta was born at Jefferies Corner, N.B. on July 16, 1924 only daughter of the late Allan and Genevieve (Flewelling) Hawkes. Zeta was a graduate of the General Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1958. She continued her education at McGill University and U.N.B., was the Assistant Director of Nursing at the General Hospital and retired in 1989 as the Director of Nursing at the Sussex Health Center and the Kiwanis Nursing Home. Zeta is survived by her brother Ralph B. Hawkes and his wife Eileen, Sussex Corner, nephew Ralph A. Hawkes (Eleanor), 3 great nieces, 1 great nephew, 3 great great nieces, 5 great great nephews, 1 great great great niece and several cousins. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road, Sussex (506-433-2133) on Sunday from 7-9 PM and Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The service, conducted by Reverend David Barrett, will be held Tuesday December 17, 2002 at 2:00 PM at Trinity Anglican Church, Sussex Corner. Interment at Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Sussex Corner. As expressions of sympathy donations made to the Kiwanis Nursing Home or charity of donor's choice would be appreciated.
