The death of Margaret Mary Sherwood formerly of Hillsdale, NB occurred peacefully at the Dr. V.A. Snow Centre, Hampton on January 6, 2007. Margaret was born January 5, 1925 at Hillsdale, the youngest child of the late James and Mary (Farren) McMackin, and was the wife of the late Raymond E. Sherwood. A graduate of the Nursing Institute in Moncton in 1956, Margaret worked in the Pembroke General Hospital in the early 60’s and the DVA Hospital in Saint John later in her career. Margaret leaves to mourn her only surviving sister Dorothy Fudge of Saint John and many nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by three sisters, Elizabeth Hodges, Miriam Monahan and Ann Russo, five brothers, James, Joseph, Patrick, Michael and Thomas. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433-2133) on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday January 9, 2007 at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church, Sussex at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Trinity Cemetery, Sussex Corner in the spring.
