Obituary of Harold Duncan Hall

Harold Duncan Hall of South Branch, NB, passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on Saturday June 28, 2014. Born in South Branch on January 21, 1923, he was the son of the late Luther and Blanche (nee Goddard) Hall. Harold was predeceased by his wife, the late Phyllis (Dysart) Hall who passed away in 1986. Harold was the last surviving member of his family, being predeceased by his five sisters: Hazel McLeod, Lottie Hall, Georgie Bustin, Laura Snarr and Millie McNair, as well as by much loved nephew Douglas Goddard. Harold spent his entire life (91 years) in the house in which he was born. He was a farmer and a woodsman. His neighbours were especially kind to him, enabling him to remain at home, the place he loved so much. Harold will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends who always loved to be entertained by his many stories and music he played on his harmonica. Arrangements are entrusted to the professional care of Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road, Sussex (506-433-2133) from where visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. The funeral service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Wednesday July 2, 2014 at 2pm with Rev. Dr. Neville Gosman presiding. The interment will take place in Pioneer Cemetery, followed by a reception at the Penobsquis Baptist Church. For those who wish, remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Pioneer Cemetery would be appreciated by the family. On-line condolences are available at: www.sussexfh.com.
