Bartlett, Mary Ellen, 89, of the Kiwanis Nursing Home, Sussex, and formerly of Apohaqui, passed away at her residence on November 20, 2009. Born in Inverness, Cape Breton, she was a daughter of the late John and Ruth (McIsaac) O’Quinn. Mary is survived by her daughters: Hazel Gervan (Gerry) of Erb Settlement and Ottawa, Ruth Kirk (Crandall) of Apohaqui, Gail Johnston (LeVerne) of Lower Millstream, Sylvia Lewis (Richard) of Norton and April MacDonald (Leonard) of Ratter Corner; sons: Donald Jr. (Linda) and Ralph (Anne) all of Lower Millstream, Russell (Gloria) and Beverly (Terry) all of Sussex, Gary (Shelley) of Lower Cove; 23 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren, as well as by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband Don Bartlett; her brothers: Clarence, Lloyd, and Joseph; her grandsons: Jamie and Shane Bartlett, and her great-grandson Jason Kirk. Visitation will be held on Sunday November 22, 2009 from 3-8 pm; the funeral service will be held on Monday November 23, 2009 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Kevin Vincent presiding, all in Sussex Select Community Funeral Home. Interment will be held in Upper Springfield Cemetery.
