The death of Elmer Ralph Shay of Mount Pisgah, NB occurred at the Sussex Health Centre on May 14, 2007 at the age of 92. Born at Mount Pisgah, the only child of Seth and Florence (Anderson) Shay. He is survived by his wife of 38 years Phyllis Jean (Forsythe) Shay, children; Eleanor Lavoie (Robert) of Newtown, Merlin Shay of Sussex Corner, Norman Shay of Mount Pisgah, Alfred Shay (Gloria) of Mount Pisgah, Glenna Shay of Hatfield Point and Hilda MacVicar of Mount Middleton, 16 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Elmer was predeceased by his parents and his first wife Myrtle Shay. Elmer was a member of Trinity Anglican Church, Zion Lodge #21 F & AM, the Orange Lodge, the Golden “K”, the Golden “K” Ramblers and the Happy Go Lucky Fiddlers. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road, Sussex (506-433-2133) on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9PM. The Zion Lodge #21 F. & A.M. will hold a tribute on Wednesday at 6:30PM. The Orange Lodge will hold a tribute on Wednesday at 6:45PM. The funeral service will be held at Trinity Church, Sussex on Thursday May 17, 2007 at 2:00PM with Reverend David Barrett officiating. Interment will take place at Gosline Cemetery. Donations made to the Organ Restoration Fund at Trinity Church or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
