Obituary of Carolyn E. Marshall

Marshall, Carolyn E.- Carolyn, 64, of Sussex, NB has made her heavenly voyage October 4, 2016. Carolyn was born on April 7, 1952 in Digby, NS, got married in 1971 and moved to Sussex in 1972. She worked part time the first 4 years as an RNA nurse, a few years as secretary of her husband’s business and then staying at home with her children. Carolyn did her nursing training at Kentville, NS Sanitorium in 1970 and her secretary training in the mid 80’s at Bethany Bible College (Kingswood University) in Sussex, NB. Her church activities were many including a Sunday school teacher, Junior Choir director, CYC children’s program director, and children’s choir and plays director. She was also the director of Salvation Army Christmas Kettles twice. Carolyn enjoyed table games, Creative Circle needle work, reading, association with friends and family and going for a drive in the car. She was known for her kindness, humility, hospitality and a sweet smile. She was a mentor to people and enjoyed fellowship with people. Carolyn was the daughter of the late Roy and Glenna Cook. She will be missed by her husband Lawrence of 45 years; her children: Carol Ann, Rodney and Kevin (Naomi); her grandchildren: Isaac, Hannah and Reuben; her sisters: Gloria (Bernard McBride), Judy, Dianne (Stephen Peck) and Patricia (A.J. Cole); her brothers: James (Gloria), David (Anne), Paul (Kim) and Peter (Candy) as well as several nieces and nephews and their children. The family will receive visitors on Saturday, October 8th from Sussex Select Community Funeral Home from 6-8pm. Funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, October 9th at Faith Bible Baptist Fellowship, with Pastor Tim MacDonald officiating. Interment to follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
